ABOUT US

We are a family-run arable farm fully permitted by the Environment Agency to accept green and wood waste. The resulting compost is worked back into the land, and biomass goes to produce green electricity. We have run the farm for five generations and first started to collect green waste 25 years ago.

We accept a range of green and wood waste. In general we will take anything that composts and anything from a tree:

PLANT WASTE FOR COMPOSTING

  • Leaves
  • Plants
  • Flowers
  • Hedge cuttings
  • Weeds
  • Bushes (without roots)
  • Grass clippings

TREE WASTE

  • Branches
  • Tree trunks
  • Woodchip
  • Logs
  • Brash

We do not accept treated or processed wood (e.g. decking, fence panels etc.).

MEET THE TEAM

Cheshire Green Waste is run by Richard Jackson with support from his father Peter who started the business.  Richard is the Technically Competent Manager and point of contact for the Environment Agency. Peter has lived and worked on Tanyard Farm for his entire life and continues to oversee the crops we grow and the keeping of sheep. Both are supported by their trusted Lieutenant Brian and other part timers.
